Product Description: This offering is for one new Rhode Gear Shuttle Lock. The pictures included to the left include packaging copy that describes this locking mechanism and some of it's more common applications. From what he can tell, the design of the locking mechanism includes a square shaped (steel) anchor plate connected to a rubber coated cable that is intended to "seat" inside a vehicle (i.e., a trunk, etc.). Once the anchor plate is secure, then the cable is guided through/around the bike(s)...making sure to create a loop...until reaching the end of the cable (and the cable lock). At this point, the lock is used to "close" the loop and secure the bike(s). Now we realize the relatively thin cable used to make this loop and secure the bike(s) may be cut with bolt cutters, but the thought is the locking mechanism offers some level of (although no where near absolute) security relative to having no locking mechanism at all. As for condition, this locking mechanism is new and still in it's original retail packaging.
