The extent of changing this motor out yourself is simply to unplug the unit, undo 3 wires, taking the motor out, putting in a new motor, reconnect the 3 wires. The breaker will also need to be put in (uses same wiring). If you are unsure, we recommend taking a picture of the wiring of your existing motor prior to removing. This picture will serve as a reference if you have any trouble remembering which wires go where. This motor is an upgrade to the original 260, 460 and 760 motors. It comes with a 17amp mini-breaker which must be changed out as well.
