Description: NASA Space Shuttle Flight Data LockerFlown on Discovery STS-70serial # AW2916 Flight Data Locker from the flight deck of Space shuttle, flown multiple times. 2 of these each would sit on the right side Commander and Pilot's seat, and would carry items such as checklists, maps, charts, or other flight information and/or supplies they could access during launch, orbit, and return. The locker has blue velcro affixed on the outside and lid to attach items being used when in orbit. It is in fine shape with good documentation, and several part numbers and serial numbers stamped on the inside lid and walls. The inspection code on the service tag shows it was taken off Orbiter Vehicle 3 ( Discovery ) after STS-70 and was to be readied for the next shuttle flight. Furthermore, because there are multiple serial numbers stamped on this item indicating it has been flown previously on earlier missions or other Orbiters. STS-70/Discovery is the only mission documented in writing as flown.The locker is roughly 12" x 12" x 3" in size and made of lightweight aerospace aluminum.
