Description: Misery Loves Company Framed Illustration by Clara Miller Burd This is "Misery Loves Company" by Clara Miller Burd. I saw it mentioned as a trade card for the Trenton Cracker Co. I have seen it as an illustration in Delightful Stories for Children, which was published in 1920. It was framed professionally by the Watkin’s Art Store in Bridgeport, Conn. (See the photo of the back of the frame.) The frame is wood and carved with flowers. The illustration is marked on the front Copr. The Knapp Co., Inc. N.Y. On the far lower right is marked ©C M Burd . I think it was framed around the 1920s. Clara Burd was the illustrator for Delightful Stories for Children, Mother Goose and her Goslings, A Children’s Garden of Verses, books by Louisa May Alcott and other authors, as well as numerous magazine covers. The frame is approx. 5 1/2" by 7 1/4" My store items are from auctions, garage sales and/or estate sales, generally pre-owned and sold as is. I rarely clean, repair or retouch anything I have in my store though I will always advise when I do so. Descriptions are as accurate as I can make them, and measurements are approximate. Please refer to photos for further information.
