Description: Mexican Red Plumeria Temple Tree Seeds (P. rubra) Red Plumeria is an Eye Catching Addition to Any Landscaping that Leans Towards being Highly Unique and Gorgeous. Unlike Most Flowering Trees which Bloom for a Few Days or Weeks, Red Plumeria Keeps Beautiful Flowers on Display for Months. It's Flowers are Very Fragrant, Attracting Hummingbirds & Butterflies, with it's Flowers Generally being a Red Pink or Purple Center Rich with Yellow. Plumeria rubra needs at least 6–8 hours of direct or nearly direct sunlight to bloom. In hot areas, you can provide some afternoon shade to prevent the leaves and flowers from burning. If you're growing plumeria rubra indoors, it needs very bright light, like a sunny western or southern exposure with at least 4–6 hours of direct light. Prefers rich, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soil that's porous and retentive. The soil should allow water to soak the root ball quickly, but you should avoid soggy conditions that could lead to root rot. You can lighten heavy soil by adding sand, humus, or compost. During the summer growing season, keep the soil evenly moist, but allow some drying to occur between waterings. Infrequent deep watering is better than regular light waterings. The more light the plant receives, the more water it needs. Plumeria rubra is hardy to USDA Hardiness Zones 10–12, because it's susceptible to freezing temperatures. In colder areas, you can grow plumeria rubra in containers and bring them indoors when the weather cools. You can also dig up the plant in the fall and keep it indoors over the winter. Plumeria Germination:For faster germination and rooting, dilute Vitazyme with warm water at a rate of 1 oz to 19 oz of water, a 5% solution and dip or mist both side of the seed. Allow seeds to dry prior to planting or soaking. For a soaking mixture, dilute Vitazyme with warm water at a rate of about 1.29% or 1 oz to 128 oz (1 gallon).Place your seeds in the container, place on a heated propagator mat between 75-80 degrees. Going warmer can slow, or even stop germination with Plumeria seeds. Allow to soak for approximately 4-6 hours (no more than 12 hours max). Soaking longer than overnight could cause damage to the seeds. Do not allow your seeds to dry out before you plant them.Use a 50% cactus starting mix, mixed with 30% perlite, and 20% vermiculite. Keep well watered as this mixture will dry fast on a heated propagator mat.
