Description: An original antique etching by F. Hafig. Originally published as one of set of six views of the City of Lugano in Switzerland. Estimated to date to the 1930s. It is a detailed streetscape with tall period buildings with balconies and pillars, shops in the archways below. Titled in pencil below 'Lugano, Via Pessino'. Via Pessino is a historic street in the old part of the City, a place where regular fruit and veg markets are held. Signed in pencil lower right 'F. Hafig'. Though I have found other examples of this artist's work I have not been able to locate biographical detail. Printed on wove paper and in excellent condition. Measures 14.5 x 11cm.
