Description: This lot consists of a long wool dress with a white cotton bodice, a long woolen skirt set and a wool cape. The condition of the long dress is very good. We note a few tiny pin holes as might be expected of wool that is this old. We also find one smudge/spot near the hem. 15” waist, 5” across at shoulders, 29” long. Next, we have a skirt and top set with pink scalloped edges and Tambour embroidery at the bottom of the skirt. The condition is poor. Beautiful though it is, both pieces are quite moth eaten, particularly the top, but they are too beautiful to ditch. 6” across the jacket shoulder, jacket 7” long, sleeves 7” long, skirt waist 7”, skirt length 8½” long. Finally, there is a cape, lined with pink silk and closing with pink ribbons. It too is fairly moth eaten. Sleeve to sleeve 27”, length 13” long. These pieces are very antique (likely 1880s - 1900) and completely handmade, thus very special.
