LARGE PIECE OF WOOD FROM ONE OF THE ENGLISH SHIPS THAT FOILED THE INVASION OF ENGLAND BY THE SPANISH ARMADA IN 1588 Large piece of wood, measuring 6.25 by 4.25 by 3.75 inches, from one of the English ships that foiled the invasion of England by the Spanish Armada from July to August 1588. Accompanied with a late 19th to early 20th century plaque that reads, “English Oak, From One of H.M. Queen Elizabeth I Ships of the Line, Armada 1588.” We were unable to locate a similar item available for sale at auction in the past 25 years.
