Have you ever used a hooklink that knew not to tangle, one which the fish could hardly see and one that it made more difficult than any other to eject? IQ is fluorocarbon that refracts light in almost the same way as water, making it almost invisible when immersed underwater. It is stiffer than normal nylon which stops tangles and improves the anti-eject properties of your rigs. Tried and tested by Team Korda and has accounted for hundreds of carp. Arma-Kord Arma-Kord is an incredibly abrasion resistant braided line, which is also supple and thin for its strength. It has been designed as a high performance snag /shock leader for extreme snag or long-range situations. In tests this braid proved at least 50% more abrasion resistant than the nearest competitor. Its thinner diameter and low vis brown colour also makes it far less detectable underwater. SuperNatural It was about time that we released a supple braided material and finally we have � bring in the Supernatural. This is a finally woven braid that�s mega supple and ultra strong. It will therefore appeal to all you solid PVA bag anglers that like to fish over soft lake beds; such as in weed or over chod. Due to the suppleness, the Supernatural will gently rest over the contours of the lake bed laying flat and out of the carp�s way. It�s a big favourite of Adam Penning�s showing you the effectiveness of the product. N-Trap Soft Although the original Hybrid hook links had many followers, the Korda product development team thought that it could be bettered. The resulting product, N-Trap Soft, is the culmination of two and a half years of development and testing. So, why is N-Trap the best coated material on the market? Well, it features a tough, matt coating that is easy to strip yet won�t split when tightened down and the rugged Dyneema braid inner is a much better colour match for the coating than other hook links. Following the proven Safezone camou principle, we�ve released the N-Trap in three colours, Weedy Green, Silt and Gravel Brown. Of course, the colours have been chosen with our longstanding underwater experience to closely match the conditions that you�ll find on your waters. N-Trap Semi Stiff The second addition to the N-Trap range is slightly stiffer than the N-Trap Soft that has been so popular since its release. The stiffer coating that Semi Stiff boasts is still easily strippable, making it easier than ever to produce top-notch bottom-bait and pop-up presentations. N-Trap Semi Stiff performed extremely well when used on the underwater filming at St Johns. It is available in Weed Green, Silt and Gravel and in 15lb, 20lb and 30lb versions, to cover all UK and Worldwide situations. Hybrid Stiff A lot of work has gone into making changes to the original Hybrid hooklength material. The coating in particular on the new Korda Hybrid Stiff Coated Braid is obviously slightly stiffer, and Korda have spent a lot of time working on the colours of the coating through watching, on underwater cameras, the reaction to various samples in a fishing situation. By having a stiff section of hooklink it will lie straight on the lakebed, with a small section of the stiff coating removed the soft braid end exposed next to hook gives enough movement for the hook to go in the mouth, because the rest of the hooklink is already straight the fish will have to move the minimum of distances until the lead is felt the hook starts to tale hold and hopefully the carp bolts. The Korda Hybrid Stiff Coated Braid is rated with a 20lb breaking strain and come on 20 meter spools in both weedy green or gravel brown. Mouth Trap Mouthtrap has been designed to create the ultimate stiff rig in an easy, hassle-free manner. During testing there is one element that particularly stood out for the lads involved in the team � this was the fact that it is easier to manipulate than any other stiff material on the market, without the hassle of steaming over a piping hot kettle which takes up valuable fishing time and extra effort. We have tested lines for many years in our lab and SUBline has out performed all others in terms of toughness and knot strength. It is now the only choice when faced with heavy weed, snags or the abrasive terrain of gravel. By using the latest line extrusion technology, SUBline exhibits outstanding suppleness with the stiff wiry feel often found on super tough reel lines. In addition to all this we have added a very dense material to the formula ensuring the line sinks exceptionally well. Available in the key, popular breaking strains with the addition of a 20lb version for dealing with extra heavy duty carping and European work - subtle green and brown colours are available. Adrena-Line The main consideration when developing a casting line is how to rate it in terms of diameter and breaking strain. In the match fishing world, the spoken language is in terms of millimetres and diameters, not pounds and breaking strains. In carp fishing, things are very different � all anglers only talk in breaking strain, seemingly without ever considering the actual thickness. This means that almost all carp fishing lines are MASSIVELY underrated in terms of breaking strain. For example, a popular 15lb line breaks at over 23lb and has a diameter of 0.40mm. That is a thickness comparable to a 20lb line, but is sold as 15lb. Therefore, everybody says this line is strong� but amazingly hardly anybody says this is bloody thick! Obviously, where casting is concerned, diameter suddenly becomes the main consideration and if you speak to any of the country�s leading casters they all, without exception, speak in terms of diameter knowing full well that while one 10lb line may be 0.32mm, another 10lb line measuring 0.30mm will outperform it and cast further. We consulted the Tackle Box to see how varied the range of lines sold as 12lb actually is. Incredibly of the 20 different brands of 12lb line sold, the diameter varies from 0.26mm right up to 0.38mm. These are all rated at 12lb yet have actual breaking strains from as low as 9.8lb up to a massive 22.5lb! Suddenly it becomes clear why it is so misleading to talk in pounds. Only true diameter together with an accurately rated breaking strain makes sense, not what the line has been labelled as. HONEST, RELIABLE AND ACCURATE Korda Adrena-Line is accurately rated for breaking strain which means that on a Palomar knot it will break at just over its stated breaking strain. For example 12lb Adrena-Line breaks at 13lb. What does this mean for the angler? Because Adrena-Line is honestly rated, it means that the angler knows exactly what to expect from it and because it is generally lower in diameter than other 12lbs lines, it will cast further too!! The colour is another area we looked at closely; clear lines can actually be very obtrusive so we looked at a morphing the colour of the line along its length so that it changes shade frequently. This unquestionably helps to break up the outline and because the colour we have chosen is a naturally occurring pale brown, the line blends in well with just about any surroundings. BEATING RECORDS So, with specimen anglers incorporating it into their armoury on demanding waters, we wanted to see how it performs as originally designed - casting! There was no better way to find out other than to give a spool to monster caster Terry Edmonds. In a recent tournament casting competition, Terry blasted a remarkable 223.06m, which is roughly 244yrd, using Adrena-Line in 0.33mm diameter. He achieved this unbelievable distance using Harrison rods and 5oz leads. All I can say is WOW because he now holds the Kent fixed spool casting record! Terry has also been using it in fishing situations with a lovely 30lb common being his latest capture. IRON FIST IN A SILK GLOVE But these aspects alone aren�t enough to make Adrena-Line truly stand out from the crowd. The line has a remarkably limp, supple finish that is softer than anything we have seen allowing it to be cast astonishing distances with ease. When designing a line to have a particularly prevalent characteristic (ie. tougher, or perhaps more supple, softer etc.), it almost always means sacrificing other elements. For example, the toughest lines are invariably coarse and wiry which inhibits casting distance while soft casting lines tend to be poor performers in the abrasion resistance arena. Adrena-Line was designed first and foremost as a casting line, so it was a very pleasant surprise to find that it out performed several lines that are perceived as being market leaders for abrasion resistance. It appeared at this stage that we had a very special line on our hands and lengthy field testing began. Over the course of summer and winter 2007 it was used to great effect with our field testers taking ten 50lb plus carp while long range, distance casting at demanding foreign venues. Our own Damian Clarke landed his personal best of 55lbs while young Tom Dove caught his best overseas fish at 47lb plus backed up with another 40. The boss used it too and had a phenomenal catch including a new PB of over 60lbs! The finished article is the first line from Korda and one that we are very proud of; it has proved itself to be an outstanding performer both in the laboratory and on the bank with few other lines coming even close to matching its all round capabilities Subline Tapered Mainline Tapered SUBline has all of SUBline�s fast-sinking, abrasion resistant-properties, but the line tapers into an integral shock leader at each end. No knots are necessary; if you snap off and lose one, all you have to do is wind the line onto a new spool to reveal the other! Because there are no leader knots involved, the risk of �frapping up� on big casts is massively reduced and there is nothing for weed to collect on or for a lead system to jam against. This line was designed for extreme-range casting, but the extra diameter also acts as a robust snag leader. Each tapering leader is 15 metres long, but can be cut down by a maximum of five metres for super-long range, when every last yard counts. Tapered SUBline is available in the following versions: 0.28mm - 0.50mm (8lb tapering to 40lb) 0.30mm - 0.50mm (10lb tapering to 40lb) 0.33mm - 0.50mm (12lb tapering to 40lb) Subline Tapered Leaders If you prefer a more traditional casting leader then we have the answer, in the shape of these SUBline leaders. They�re smooth, supple and taper from a low diameter that�s perfect for knotting to line of similar diameter, right up to the thick shockleader end that�ll take the brunt of the biggest casts. There are three versions available: 8lb to 40lb, 10lb to 40lb and 12lb to 40lb. Each spool holds five, 12-metre leaders that can be cut down to suit the individual�s needs. Tapered SUBline leaders are available in Sub Brown colour only. Kontour For the last three years, we have been developing a fluorocarbon main line that ticks all the boxes � one that casts unbelievably well, sinks like a brick and is highly abrasion resistant. In fact, it�s pretty much all Danny Fairbrass uses. Kontour, as it is known, is very soft compared to many other fluorocarbons, allowing it to quite literally peel from the spool smoothly as your lead propels through the air. This aids casting distance and accuracy. It is also particularly heavy, ensuring that it sinks to the lake bed keeping flush and out of the carp�s way. Launched in one breaking strain, namely 12lb, it will be suitable for all manner of situations and due to its genuine knot strength will be strong, reliable and user friendly.
