In excellent condition with no holes, tears or missing paint. The original frame has minor scratches due to the age. Kaisa Melanton (1920–2012) Pioneering Swedish textile artist and painter. As an 18 year old, Kaisa Melanton started training as an art teacher at Konstfack in Stockholm. During her education, she met her husband-to-be, Erland Melanton. They married on 6 June 1943, immediately after they had both completed their educations. Erland Melanton was employed as a drawing teacher in Örnsköldsvik, and the couple moved there for several years. She was the principal teacher at Konstfack's textile line 1969-79 and artistic leader for Märta Måås-Fjetterströms workshop in Båstad 1970-75. She was an advisor on artistic issues at the Friends of Friends in Stockholm 1979-1990. She made a large number of textiles in the public environment, including for Katarina church in Stockholm.
