Description: von Neumann, Johann. Mathematische Grundlagen der Quantenmechanik. Berlin: Julius Springer, 1932. von Neumann, John. Mathematical Foundations of Quantum Mechanics. Berlin: Julius Springer, 1932. Offered for sale is a copy of John von Neumann's Mathematische Grundlagen der Quantenmechanik--in its first edition, the first printing (of 1932), the author's first monograph, a true rarity. This copy--in fair condition--was withdrawn from a university library and retains the usual stamps, stickers, and paste-downs. The striking yellow cloth is soiled, and the back-strip is heavy frayed at the front hinge--which hinge itself is tender, the netting peeking through. The back-strip is secured by piece of archival tape--applied, it would seem, by the hand of a professional conservator. The rear hinge is sound. The interior is entirely free of annotations, underscores, &c. I invite you to make me an offer. This book will be posted, for *FREE*, by USPS Priority Mail. A signature will be required on receipt. Buyers abroad will be served by eBay's International Shipping Program.
