Most likely from 1930, the year the Society was formed at Harvard University. Speakers included: Dr. D.J. Struik of MIT on Soviet Science. Dirk Jan Struik was a mathematician and Marxist theoretician who began teaching at MIT in 1926. In the 1950s he was brought before the House Un-American Activities Committee accused of being a spy for the Soviet Union. MIT suspended him (with pay), eventually reinstating him in 1956. Professor H.W.L Dana speaking on Soviet Drama. Dana was the grandson of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Nicolas Slonimsky, a Russian-born American musicologist, on Soviet Music. H. Gordon of the Communist Party of Massachusetts speaking on Socialist Construction. Printed on cardstock, one side only. Approximately 9.25" x 6".
