They remembered the injustices of arrest, conviction and employment dismissal. They emphasised how the National Coal Board, police and courts operated as confederates of Margaret Thatcher's Conservative government, silencing union voice and closing pits deemed unprofitable, to maximise returns from intended privatisation.
