Description: This is an indoor water heater timer. It cannot be used as a disconnect, because it only switches one leg of the 220 volts. I am a retired electrician, and this is surplus from my shop. By the box, I believe this is an old-fashioned timer, but the timer is new and in great condition. There's no point in having an electric water heater keeping water up to full temperature when it's not needed. This timer would pay for itself very quickly, and Intermatic is a great brand! It has full installation instructions in the box.
