It has upgraded engines and strengthened undercarriage with a twin nosewheel. It includes canards as well as larger wings than the standard Su-27. The wings and stabilators are also foldable. The Su-27K was introduced in the mid-1990s and from December 1995 to March 1996, Admiral Kuznetsov set sail in the Mediterranean Sea, carrying two Su-25UTGs, nine Ka-27s, and 13 Su-27Ks. The aircraft officially entered service on 31 August 1998 under new designation "Su-33". The Flanker-D is also capable of carrying the Kh-41 Moskit - a large supersonic ramjet-powered anti-ship cruise missile. The missile is capable of reaching Mach 3 with a range of 75 - 150 miles. It can carry conventional or nuclear warheads.
