Please note there is a slight tear to the rear hinge of Sexus. Please see photographs. There is also an approximately 1/4” tear and wrinkle to the top edge of the dust jacket of Sexus. There are a couple of very small chips and scuffs to the jackets. Edgewear to the books themselves is minimal; they are squarely bound with jackets that retain their original sheen. Please see photos. In addition, although the slipcase has generally done its job of protecting the three volumes, the slipcase has split in two places: along the rear top edge and the rear bottom edge. See photos. This Grove Press set was the first U.S. publication of these three Henry Miller titles, in 1965, following a landmark 1964 United States Supreme Court decision which held that Mr. Miller’s book Tropic of Cancer was not obscene. This collectible three-volume slipcased set will be shipped bubble wrapped in a box.
