The lens is made of plastic and the frames are excellent. Parkerized would be your correct finish from roughly 1942 through early 1946. The lens commonly assisted with military models during WWII had an inner shield with just a small hole for the operator to see the oil and generator lights. However, ones like this would have been used on models without the blackout lighting equipment. We do sell the black out lenses as well as bright nickel or cad lenses on other listings in our store.
