Description: I am selling my entire collection of Hardy Boys book as well as some other books in my collection. The Hardy Boys collection consists of over 220 different books and 1 or 2 duplicates. The collection includes early books from the 1920s through the later picture cover books of the 60's and 70's and all in between. There are 1st editions, harder to find variations and examples of all the different dust jacket art, spine types, book boards and end papers and even story revisions. Information on each book that I provide comes mostly from the fine guide, Hardy and Hardy Investigations 6th edition by Tony Carpentieri and Paul Mular. If you are looking for a certain book for your collection or just readers for your kids or grandkids, check my listing periodically because it will take some time to get all these listed and I will do it randomly. All my jacketed books are protected by Mylar, done by me or a previous owner. I'll combine shipping if requested.Note: Since I originally listed these books, I have sold about 160 of them. I thank all those that have bought from me and hope you are pleased with your purchases. I still have 60 or so books and will continue to list them. A great number of the first editions, variations and harder to find books are now gone, but there are still white, yellow and wrap spine books as well as a good number of PC's with both original and revised text available. Thank you all for looking. This is the 16th title in the Hardy Boys series, A Figure In Hiding. The book was the 12th printing and was printed in 1946 using wartime paper. The dust jacket, which was the 11th printing in 1945, was paired with this book. Probably a bookseller pairing, but possibly a factory job, using up leftover DJs. The dust jacket is a yellow spine and the artist was Paul Laune who also did the frontispiece. The book is brown with dark brown lettering and the endpapers are orange Gretta, (J Clemens Gretta). The dust jacket is not in the best of condition. There is large paper loss on the front, spine and back and I'll leave it at that. Besides the paper loss, the front and back have creases and tape, and the inside flaps also have tape. The book boards look pretty good. The gloss is still there but I see a faint crease on the back. The binding looks ok but inside, the back endpaper is tearing away. (about 1 1/2" tear near the top) and the last blank page is completely torn away from the binding and held in place by the remaining 6" of end paper that is not torn away. The end papers are clear of marks and such. (just to add a little positive note). One more cheery note: There are two or three pages that have yellowed tape on them repairing small tears. The war time paper was fragile and this book apparently didn't just sit on the shelf. Several of the pages have small 1" tears on their tops. I'd say this book could fill a spot in a collection but it's not recommended as a reader. Too fragile for that, though I must admit, I did recently reread it myself without causing further damage. It seemed one of the more interesting/witty Hardy Boy books. The H&H designation is A Figure In Hiding 1945A-11 for the DJ and 1946A-12 for the book
