Description: My great great grandfather on my mother's side used to practice the art of shrinking heads. A practice done to harness the spiritual power of the dead. Worn by the shrunken themselves to ward off the spirits of the dead as well as the owner of the head. The warriors belts would sometimes be covered with heads to signify his power. The art was passed down from family member to family member and eventually even taught to me. It is now illegal to participate in this practice so I make latex replicas of shrunken heads. Paying close attention to traditional practices. The heads are filled with cotton as well as what my fathers people call the four medicines, sage, sweet grass, cedar and tobacco. No two heads are made alike and can take up to a week to complete. There may be different types of shells,, colored feathers, hair or facial piercings. I have a few currently available but can make one specifically to your specifications. The heads themselves measure 6" x 4.5" They are then attached to a stand making them 13"-15" tall.
