Description: The original edition of Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell remained in print for many decades past its original 1936 release. Here for sale is a stated 80th printing from 1969. As you'll see from the photos and condition notes, this copy is in very rough shape. It is complete and readable, but shows significant wear and structural damage along with some journeyman repairs that render it sound and readable but not... pretty. There are no missing pages, the book holds together, and given that it's a copy of the original / "first" edition of a major American text I think it's worth saving. So I'm offering it here at a very low price in the hope that someone out there would like to add this to their collection of reader copies. Here are the condition notes: "Beat to H-E-double hockeysticks." FULLY READABLE - but that's about the best I can say for its condition. Dust jacket is present but in very rough condition -- stabilized with book tape so it won't fall apart (more). Text itself is very worn; exterior shows major edge rubbing such that the red cloth boards are worn through to the cardboard all along the bottom edges. Separation of the boards at the cover hinge stabilized with book tape. Exterior library stamps on page edges. Interior shows significant damage including: ex-library phenomena, separation of the first section of the text block has been loosely repaired by re-sewing and taping that section. Repairs are imperfect. Text block is complete and fully readable. Pages generally clean but there is occasional staining, nothing interferes with the text.
