Description: 1.8-pound quartz specimen from the Wilson Gomez Extension Mine. The gold ore was mined from an extension of the main vein and transported to a stamp mill via a cable and ore bucket. This ore was from the stamp mill located on Washington Creek (See picture) Surface mineralization with visible gold. The best display specimen I have, looks like it was spray painted with gold. I was the claim owner for several years and it just became too far of a drive and then there was the hike to the remote area. The Wilson Gomez and Extension mines did produce some free milling gold and large pockets, but most of the gold was very thin between the quartz/slate contact zone. Some veins had gold intermittent with pyrite and silver. Also including a large gold ore sample from a mine in Golar Gulch area of the Mohave desert.
