Description: Fender MIJ FSR Traditional 60s Jazzmaster Inca SilverWhy we love itThis Fender Special Run takes everything we love about the already excellent MIJ Traditional 60s Jazzmaster and boosts it up another notch. This model features a long list of upgrades and modifications to the standard model (listed below) including US pickups. Incredible value for performance as well as being very limited production. The fit and finish is exceptional. If you’re a fan of Jazzmasters don’t miss out on this one.ConditionThis guitar is in Mint (as new) condition and shows no signs of prior use. It was tested upon arrival to ensure good neck condition, truss rod function, and electronics function. The original tremolo bar, Fender gig bag, warranty card, and wrench are included. This guitar has been professionally set up with medium action, optimal neck relief, and dialed in intonation. This Jazzmaster weighs 7.6 pounds.OverviewThis guitar is part of a very limited run for a single Japanese music retailer. Using the Made in Japan Traditional 60s Jazzmaster as a starting template, many subtle but meaningful modifications were made to the standard model. Alder has been used in place of basswood for a classic tonewood trifecta of alder body, maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard. The body is finished in immaculately applied inca Silver paint with gloss polyester top coat. The easy playing gloss finish 25.5-inch scale maple neck features the same comfortable U-shaped profile as the standard model, but the headstock is now finished in Inca Silver to match the body. Beautifully figured vibrant rosewood was selected for the fingerboard, which features a vintage style 7.25-inch radius with 21 superbly finished medium jumbo frets (as opposed to 9.5-inch and vintage narrow frets on the standard Traditional model). Width at the bone nut is 1.615" (41.02 mm). White dot position marks and neck binding used during the transitional period of 1964-1965 were selected to round out the neck specification. Finally, the bridge saddle has been changed to a Mustang type to help prevent string slippage. Electronics and ToneThe lively, dynamic unplugged tone and feel of this guitar translates in spades when plugged in to your favorite tube amp. US-made Pure Vintage ’65 Jazzmaster pickups were selected for both neck and bridge position. These wax potted pickups feature Alnico 5 magnets, enamel-coated magnet wire, and period-correct cloth wire and fiber bobbin construction to ensure warm vintage style tones while retaining focus, enhanced dynamics, and even string response. While the standard Traditional 60s Jazzmaster pickups are really quite good, these pickups are the perfect cherry-on-top upgrade to ensure classic Jazzmaster tone. While they can dish up fantastic clean and clear sounds, their edgy snarl sounds fantastic for edge up breakup and crunch tones. High quality CTS pots and a Switchcraft jack are used to complete the electronics package.
