Description: Very Rare 1940's FAO Heirloom Collection Doll dress. This was made by FAO Schwartz and is tagged. The FAO Heirlooms were made from the 1930s and 1940s and are scarce. I believe it's for a 20"-22" Doll depending on the body. It is for the chunky hard plastics or composition girls. Measurements are in the photos. Measures a little over 9.50" Length. It's modeled on a 20" Shirley Temple compo. Shirley is NOT included she is a model only to show you how it displays. I also displayed it on the 19" vinyl doll to show you it is not for slim dolls. I believe the dress is factory-handmade because of the sewing. It has beautiful glass buttons on it, puffy sleeves, pleats, ruffles, and ric rack trim. It is in good displayable condition. It has a factory flaw from the way they sewed the rick rack. There are white threads around the rick rack that are bunched and stick out see close-ups. That is the biggest flaw. The dress at one time was a deeper yellow and it faded from age however it is even enough that it displays well. The fabric from this era is known to change on its own. Minor soil and age color however it is not a dingy stained dress. No holes or tears. It is wrinkled especially on the ruffles so it needs to be ironed. Working button closure. Photos are taken in natural sunlight to show you how it displays. I unfortunately had to change my handling time to 4 to 5 business days. I still ship quickly. However, with the current condition of the post office and the slow down of the mail they are already holding packages for several days without any tracking scan acknowledgments.
