I've had this book for decades, and it was well-cared for, stored away virtually undisturbed in all that time. Before offering it for sale, I carefully took the time to eyeball each page to make sure there was nothing obvious hiding in there that might otherwise be missed. Here is the generally-accepted description of a FN/VF comic book (as you can find on multiple online grading websites): 7.0 FINE/VERY FINE (FN/VF): An above-average copy that shows minor wear but is still relatively flat and clean with outstanding eye appeal. A small accumulation of minor bindery/printing defects is allowed. Minor cover wear beginning to show, possibly including minor creases. Corners may be blunted. Inks are generally bright with a moderate reduction in reflectivity. Stamped or inked arrival dates may be present. Minor foxing. The slightest spine roll may be present, as well as a possible moderate color break. Staples may show some discoloration. Slight staple tears and a small accumulation of light stress lines may be present. Slight rust migration. Paper is cream to tan. Centerfold is mostly secure. Minor interior tears at the margin may be present. (I include this description so you can refer to it while following along with my observations below.) Surfaceflat, clean, still with great shine, and quite smoothEdge Wearany look at the various photos will show that the edge wear is all minor from light handlingFolds/Creasesone fold mark is detected with a color-breaking line that extends from the bottom edge near the word "VICTIMS!" up to the right edge, passing just under Jonny's head. Also, a thin crease is visible in Mr. Fantastic's torso. These seem to be the only folds or creases present. Both of these still feel mostly, if not entirely smooth when I run my finger over them.Wrinklingnext to none -- this is a very smooth copy!Cornersmostly sharp with ever-so-slight blunting detectedPrinting DefectsnoneArrival StampsnoneSpineshows the minor to moderate wear you'd expect to find from a book that has been read before. See the close-up, in-your-face side photos I provided, and you'll see that there's a bit more wear on the lower area than on the top. Note that the solid black line that runs down the length of the spine is hardly broken, so almost no spine ticks.Spine RollnoneTears/SplitsnoneStaplesboth still solid with no rust -- both go all the way through to the centerfold.Back coverslight fading and not as white as it must have been a half-century ago. Bottom right corner has a touch more wear near the spine area (see side rear photo), but good overall shape.SmudgesWhen I hold the book up to the light, I see almost nothing -- smudging is not an issue with this copySurface build-upback has a light coating, which is plain enough to see in the photos. No foxing detected.Inner coversstill bright with no Silver Age tanning, and clean.Page coloreasily off-whitePage conditionexcellent with no sign of brittleness; everything seems well attachedBOTTOM LINEThis copy easily satisfies the various criteria laid out above, even exceeding them in some areas, but the lower spine wear I think caps this at FN/VF and doesn't allow it to elevate any higher. Still a very solid upper-mid-grade copy, so if that works for you, then perhaps this is the one! Where do you get more details or camera angles than what I've provided? ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE! Look at my feedback and you'll see "item as described" posted over and over again! I cannot believe other sellers expect you to make a purchase decision with just one or two photos -- ridiculous -- you always see what you're getting from me!
