Description: You are buying a large platter created by Tane of Mexico constructed of copper and tin. It needs a professional polishing as there is mild tarnishing and light scratches. The makers stamp is on the underside of one of the handles. The platter weighs 6.82 lbs, is approx 27" long and 16" wide. It comes with a Tane dust cover. However, I am pretty sure it is not original to this piece as it is not long enough. We were asked if the platter sits flat, or if it has a wobble. I added a video to demonstrate - it sits pretty flat but does have a small wobble when i press back and forth on the handles. Tane, considered the Tiffany's of Mexico, specializes in fine silver jewelry and housewares. In the 1980's, when the price of silver went up, Tane created a limited line of pieces made of copper. Not knowing the history of the piece, as they no longer produce copper items, I reached out to the company and received the following response along with a catalog page image (see last photo) showing pieces from the collection. "Hello Thank you for your message and for your patience. The pieces you send us in the picture are from the 80's, created by TANE in a limited and exclusive edition. I have found some pictures of similar pieces, and they really are very old collectible treasures. These pieces, handmade by our goldsmiths, are made in TANE, the only Mexican luxury brand in the world, and are a true beauty and luxury for the few people who are fortunate enough to have them in their collection. If you have any further questions or need additional information, feel free to let me know. I am here to help you."
