Description: This auction is for an Excellent condition J. W. Young & Sons "AMBIDEX CASTING REEL No.2FP (Type 4)" Fixed-spool reel, dating from circa 1954 . This is a really excellent example of the Ambidex No.2 FP. This was a very popular reel which sold for several years during the 1950's and was the last of the original "hump backed" reel body design. This was a rugged and well-engineered reel, but suffered from Youngs' often not very rugged paintwork. As a consequence many have survived in working condition but it is tough to find ones which have been little-used and have their original paintwork preserved. This is a great example with excellent paintwork and full working order. Please study the photos carefully as they form a major part of the description.
