It remained in circulation until January 9, 2000, when Ecuador adopted the US dollar as its currency at an exchange rate of 25,000 sucres to 1 dollar. This collection consists of 11 completely original banknotes going from 1984 to 1999, which were part of the last issuance that circulated in the country before the dollarization.
