Description: Dual Rectifier Reissue ’59 Fender Bassman – This reissue ’59 Fender Bassman has been upgraded to deliver an unmatched vintage tone. Key upgrades include: Two 5U4 rectifier tubes A second transformer (to support the power supply) Two 6L6 power tubes Two 12AY7 and one 12AX7 preamp tubes Two CTS Alnico speakers C10Q and P10Q reissue Jensen speakers Second rectifier and transformer were installed by Tom Wagner of Eudora/Lawrence KS. Skip Simmons advised me on the transformer necessary to complete the project and not blow a transformer. The amp has held up for 15 years this way. “That would be a 5 VAC 3 ampere filament transformer. I'm sure that a Hammond unit is easy to find and cheap. Try amplifiedparts.com www.skipsimmonsamps.com” These modifications were chosen to replicate the sound and feel of the legendary 1955 5D6A dual rectifier Fender Bassman, bringing you as close as possible to that tone without breaking the bank! This amp has been played performing with Levee Town, Lazy Lester, Lee McBee, Big Bill and Mud Morganfield, Trampled Under Foot, Samantha Fish, and many others. While it’s been extensively used for harmonica, it is in great working condition and ready for its next player. Make an offer, cheers!
