Description: *Please Note: While we have compiled the best possible parts when creating our Drip Depot Kits, once in a while we may have to substitute one part for another if we are out of stock. Please review the "Kit Contents" listed below for the current items included in this kit. Image may not reflect the current items included in the kit. The Automated Farm Kit is designed to operate a multiple zone drip irrigation system with the advantage of fertilizing automatically as you water. Only hand tightening is required for all of the threaded irrigation parts. An itemized list of parts included in this drip kit can be found below. The drip irrigation tubing (or tape) in this kit can be cut with ordinary household scissors, box cutter or tin snips. You can view and/or print the detailed installation instructions by clicking on the button below the parts list. Drip Depot drip irrigation kits are completely modular in design. There is nothing stopping you from adding additional irrigation parts to this kit as long as you stay within the capacities and limits of the individual drip irrigation components and what your water source can provide. This means you can mix and match parts to achieve exactly what you want out of your new drip irrigation system. Add this kit to your shopping cart, then add additional items to your shopping cart along with the kit. If you want more of the exact same items that are included in the kit, just find the item in the itemized parts list (below) and click on it. From that page, you can add more of any of the items that are included in the kit.Use this kit (or any of our kits) to build your own customized drip irrigation kit. Just click the "Customize" button above to start building your own customized drip irrigation kit.About Drip Depot drip irrigation kitsDrip Depot irrigation kits are the leading brand of drip irrigation kits in America. We have been designing and building our drip irrigation kits in the USA for years using only the highest quality components. In fact, many of the components of our kits are actually "agricultural quality," meaning they are designed and manufactured for the harsh conditions found in commercial agricultural use. We design our kits with these components because we know they will last for many years without failure. When shopping for your new drip irrigation kit, please look for the "Drip Depot Certified" label to ensure you are getting the highest quality items. If it doesn't say "Drip Depot Certified," then it's not.Drip Depot Irrigation Kits feature:Easy setupLow maintenanceIndustry standardLifetime Guarantee Kit Instructions for Automated Farm Kit This 3 zone Small Farm Kit comes complete with controller, manifold, valves, and fertilizing unit to automate your watering and fertilizing. This kit also contains all components necessary to create a working drip irrigation system. However, because no two systems are alike, additional items will be required to complete the installation. Not included are pipe and fittings to connect to your water source; wire and connectors for controller to valve connections; solvents to glue PVC EZ-Flo Ball Valve Coupling to pipe; nor any teflon tape for other pipe thread connections (if needed). Step 1. Choose a location to install your controller near an electrical source and as near as possible to your valve manifold. Follow manufacturer's installation instructions. Please Note: Controller requires electrical connection. Use proper wire size per manufacturer instructions. We recommend using approved wire connectors such as 3M Direct Bury Splice Kits and Ideal Silicone Filled Wire Nuts when making wiring connections to valves. Step 2. Choose your location to install your EZ-Flo fertilizing kit. Follow EZ-Flo mainline installation instructions. Click here for EZ-Flo Installation Instructions. Please Note: The EZ-Flo fertilizing kit is designed to be installed before the valves using the EZ-Flo Ball Valve Coupling for 1" PVC. Solvent weld supplies, such as iFuse Primer/Glue are not included. Also note: Use of a fertilizer injector on a shared potable water source requires proper backflow prevention device installed upstream of the injector. See you local codes for approved devices. Step 3. Build your valve manifold sections. The manifold fittings have nitrile rubber o-rings for leak-proof sealing so no pipe dope or teflon tape is required in these connections. Hand tighten manifold parts only.Start with the manifold Tee fitting and attach the pipe nipple (side without the large nitrile o-ring) to the lower swivel connection on the tee.Connect the valve to the o-ring pipe nipple (side with the large nitrile o-ring to valve). Pay close attention to the directional flow arrows on the valve for proper installation.Attach the male x female swivel adapter to the outflow of the valve.Connect the manifold tee of each valve manifold section together (side x side) and cap the remaining open end with the manifold end cap. Step 4. Attach the filter to outflow of a manifold valve assembly and the pressure regulator to the outflow of the filter. Repeat for each zone. *Please note directional flow arrows on filter and pressure regulator. Step 5. Attach the threaded end of the MPT Adapter to the outflow side of the pressure regulator. Repeat for each zone. Step 6. Lay out your 1" poly tubing for your header rows (See Tip #2 below). Once laid out, attach one end to the tubing to the MPT adapter at the valve manifold and use an end cap to close the other end. Repeat for each zone. Step 7. Lay out your drip tape down each row. Please Note: You may want to provide sufficient length to allow for expansion and contraction of the drip tape due to temperature changes. Step 8. Punch a hole in the 1" poly tubing to line up with your run of tape. Step 9. Insert the barbed end of the Barbed Take-Off Adapter Valve fitting into the punched hole. Attach your tape to the perma-loc tape end of the barbed take-off valve. Repeat on each row. Here is a link to a short video on Small Farm Kit installation: https://youtu.be/iRo5CiKsd_w. Step 10. Attach an end cap to the end of each row of tape. (See Tip #1 for new installation flushing recommendation.) Step 11. Secure your poly header rows and runs of tape by using the wire staples. Tips:It is recommended to open all end caps and flush out all lines before pressurizing the system. Lay tubing in the sun to relax it before trying to unroll. Hot water can soften the ends of the tubing for easier fitting insertion. When cutting the drip tape, make clean straight cuts.Install Drip Tape with emitter side up to reduce suctioning in debris at shutdown.By burying the drip tape at least a couple inches into the soil or covering with mulch you can reduce the amount of expansion and contraction the tape may experience due to heat and cold.
