Disney's THE WISE LITTLE HEN #888 Linen Book Donald Duck, Peter Pig

Description: WALT DISNEY'S THE WISE LITTLE HEN (1937) #888 9" X 13" Linen-like soft cover book. Features the original story based on the famous Disney Silly Symphonies cartoon (1934) featuring the first appearance of Donald Duck. With DONALD DUCK, PETER PIG and Mrs CACKLE (listed only as the Wise Little Hen). GOOD condition. This copy of this book presents very will with sharp color and much of the original luster. There is wear along the spine with a number of handling stress impressions and a 1 3/4" split at the bottom. The three staples firmly bind the cover and all interior pages (centerfold photo provided). The problem that makes this a "low-grade" book is at the top of the spine split, there is a long horizontal tear on the cover and the first page (see photos). The tears are clean and look to be good candidates for repair/restoration since the rest of the book has nice integrity. The Wise Hen's blouse and two of the chicks at the bottom of the cover show some shading with a pencil. Otherwise, I see no markings, coloring or writing of any kind anywhere else in the book.
