Description: For sale $300 1984 Celestron Super C8 with wedge and tripod. Serial #826834 This one is kinda rough. Everything shows age, the screwheads are rusted, the optics are cloudy, the powercoating is oxidized. BUT, the Byer's drive works fine, everything is solid, there is an illuminated 90 degree 8x50 polar finder scope, and a steamer trunk for the scope. The wedge has the alt/az adjustments. The red drive light illuminates, but the plastic window is missing. Replace it with your own favorite piece of acrylic, or put some rubylith in there, or just leave it open. We tested the drive, it was correct within a minute on the setting circle over 4 hours. My company will open it, clean and collimate the optics for an additional $100. We normally rebuild these and sell them for more, but this one is just rough enough that it's not worth our time. Grab yourself a fully working Byer's era C8, clean the optics yourself and get it all for a very good price. Pickup preferred, I'll drive within an hour of Houston TX to meet if that seals the deal.
