You can still shift between Yards and Meters if you want by tapping the small switch in the unit, but most people just use yards. The case had writing on it (see photos) with mild wear but ti works well and the inside is in nice shape. I personally played with this unit last week and it works as well as when I got it new. I am selling because I got a newer model as a gift. The shift function is well worth the extra cost, especially if you play on hilly courses.
