Beautiful VTG Lg Doll Dotted Swiss Wedding Gown w/Bustier VGC

Description: PLEASE READ! You are buying as it is! Please ask any questions before bidding. I am not a dealer just a doll lover downsizing in retirement. I’ve had this dress packed away for many years. I Purchased it at a large estate in a box of many pieces of doll clothes some 30+ years ago; and I’ve just now started to get into them to sell them. I would not be selling this one if I had a doll that it would fit. I cannot tell you whether or not this was commercially made or handmade my suspicions are handmade, and very well-made. The outer dress is vintage white dotted swiss fabric and it is fully lined with a white cotton made of a nice medium weight. There is an arch of lace that starts at the hem line, goes up to the waist, crosses over and goes down to the hem line again on the other side creating a white rainbow of lace on the front of the dress. It has lace trim around the bodice, hem, and sleeves. The sleeves free of the dress except for a string in the under arms. The sleeves are ruffled at the top and I believe could be worn off shoulder but you could put them on the shoulder too, its up to your taste. They are made of the sheer dotted Swiss and are unlined. They have a tailored look at the cuff opening with a button closure. The left sleeve has a small tear about midway down the sleeve and some tiny holes up in the puffed part of the sleeve. The other sleeve seems to be just fine. The back closure to the dress was done very well with buttons and elastic loops really quite nice. This dress is for a larger fashion doll but one of the most unique things is that they have made a bustiers for a doll that doesn’t have a chest. You would just pin it into the dress and suddenly she’s quite a lady lol. They did an exquisite job on it I hope you can see that from the pictures and it is all hand stitched made of cotton and lace. There is one tiny hole in the lace around the top with a little bit of orange coloring around that hole. See pictures! Still, it’s a pretty exquisite little piece made just for a doll so they can wear this dress. The doll that you see in the picture wearing the dress is still too small around the waist and the bust so it has been pinned in the back. I will give the measurements at the end so you can see if it will work for your doll. You could also move the buttons over and shrink that waistline down to fit your doll that way, or if you are a seamstress you could alter it. It really is a beautiful representation of fine doll clothes from maybe the 50s and 60’s. If you have a doll that will fit it; I’m sure you will be very happy with it.
