Description: This piece of Banded Iron has great high contrast stripes. It has what I think is a layer of agate on one side. It is nicely polished by wind and water. It weighs 6.4 ounces and measures approximately 3.5 X 1.5 X 1 inches. It was found in central Wyoming. Magnets will stick to it. Banded Iron is at least 1.8 billion years old and formed of iron, hematite, magnetite with chert, jasper or quartz. It is also known as Seer Stone, Tiger Iron, and Genesis Stone. Banded Iron is thought to have metaphysical properties including opening closed chakras, grounding, channeling energy, repelling negative energy, and healing.
