This is a hand-colored print - #78 - from the royal octavo first edition of John James Audubon's Birds of America, published 1840-1844. Black Poll Wood-Warbler, with a plain white background (not a tinted background), as required. The first octavo edition was produced under the direct supervision of John James Audubon and features strictly hand-coloring. The credits are in BLOCK LETTERS, as required for plates 1-150 of the first edition. Comes in a plastic protector, and will be sandwiched between wider foam boards for mailing.
