This lovely Victorian oil painting on stretched canvas features a colorful grouping of garden fresh strawberries and leaves placed on a table. Many Victorian strawberry painting survive because people love them. Strawberries were a favorite still life subject for Victorian women who had the leisure time to paint and who had some talent. Rarely were they signed. This painting is not signed. There are some tiny pinholes to the canvas around the strawberries located to the farthest right side. They can be seen when holding the painting to a light source, but not seen from the front when viewing the painting normally. The gold gilt ornate wood frame is missing two corner sections of the elaborate scroll work on the right side. Vertical light Scratch to the lower left corner. No tears, or rips to the canvas.
