This box at a first look just looks like your average metal lock box from the early 1900s with the black color and neatly painted accent lines. After opening the box... that is when the fun started. Inside the lid is stenciled directions for M. Stein's Cold Cream. The directions from Stein's company are fabulous! They are located on 6th street on the corner of 27th... thus before addresses were on each building. It lists a price for a pound of cold cream and half a pound. I have absolutely scoured every source I know but cannot find anything like this box! There are some scratches (esp. on the bottom but that seems normal). It measured 9.5" by 6" by 4.5" The metal box structurally and the print are in good condition. The only thing missing is a key. If you want a key most antique stores to keep tons of keys for sale and I bet you will find one that works. , they are part of the description. Flat rate S&H $13 in the US.
