Description: This listing is for an Antique Jewish Pinback from the Rabbi Jacob David School and the Yeshivah Rabbi Joseph Konvitz in the East Side of New York City. Rabbi Jacob David, also know as Rabbi Yaakov Dovid Wilovsky, was a talmudic scholar and also known by the Hebrew acronym "רידב׳׳ז", which appears on the front of the pinback or in English "Ridbaz" which stands for "Rabbi Yaakov David ben Ze'ev". He was also the father-in-law of Rabbi Joseph Konvitz. Wilovsky was born in Kobrin, Russia in 1845 and died in 1913. Rabbi Joseph Konvitz was the president of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America in the 1930s and played an instrumental role in ending a kosher butcher strike. This pinback measures 1 1/2" across and is in very good condition, but with some light rust on the back side. Please see the photos for more details. Money-back guarantee.
