Description: Antique c1886 Illinois Watch Co. 6 size 8K solid gold 'Brooklyn Eagle' hunter case pocket watch. The mechanical, stem wind, lever set 11 jewels grade 141 movement(serial #560599) presently runs and keeps good time. I do not know when the watch was last serviced. The case is stamped 'Brooklyn Eagle' along with B.W.C.CO. for the Brooklyn Watch Case Co. which lists on its website the Brooklyn Eagle watch case as 8K solid gold and is fully guaranteed to be as such. The watch is in very good condition. No dents to the case and no monograms. All covers snap closed. All floral engraving remains crisp and well defined. The crystal is clear with no chips, cracks or scratches and the porcelain dial is clean with no hairlines. The lever function to set hands works properly. The watch case excluding the crown measures 40mm diameter and the watch has a gross weight of 53.2 grams. A really nice example. Please enlarge all pics for best details.
