Antique Authentic 19th Century Irish Shillelagh Twist Walking Stick

Description: Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Antique Walking Sticks Canes. Nice original Victorian period Irish Shillelagh Walking Stick. Dates to the late 1800s. Great form that twists all the way. Untouched fabulous patina. Shillelaghs were originally a tool that when used by the right person could inflict quite a bit of damage. Because of this England outlawed Shillelaghs. To work around this, makers in Ireland reduced the size and called them walking sticks. This is a beautiful antique example. Antique. Over 200 years old. Very good condition for age. No breaks or repairs. Untouched original patina. Possibly had a silver or metal tip that is lacking. Nice antique period Shillelagh walking stick. Selling as pictured. Measures about 35" long at extremes. Look at the pics as the pictures are considered part of the description. USPS ground or FedEx shipping. Shipping includes tracking and insurance.
