Description: Antique 19th Century Porcelain Portrait Brooch, C Clasp, Brass Frame This family heirloom was passed down to us by my wife's aunt, who we believe was gifted to her by her grandmother. The portrait is of a Victorian-era lady set on a metal mounting. Although not certain, we are guessing she is a transfer portrait placed on porcelain and mounted on a brass frame, which has oxidized with time. The back consists of a simple C-clasp. As shown in the pictures, the portrait has a number of small dark, hairline marks on it, and the backing pin is slightly bent. However, it is our opinion that these detractions actually add to the vintage appeal of this piece. This brooch is dainty, measuring 1 1/2" long x 1 1/4" wide. The portrait itself is 1 13/16" x 15/16" respectively. The clasp holds the pin securely. We are not sure if the mark in the middle of the backing is significant or not. The authenticity of this piece is guaranteed. With that said, any help from the EBay community in nailing down the specifics of this vintage brooch would be appreciated, and will be updated in this post accordingly. We will carefully package and ship this beautiful piece to USA addresses only. Please contact us for any questions or if you would like additional photos.
