Otherwise the book is in generally good condition considering it’s 115 years of age. I purchased it in Shanghai in the 1980’s from where it was sourced from a library in one of the large houses from the colonial era. After 1949 these large houses were converted to flats for the local population, later as China opened to the west items from the houses started to be sold in the markets to foreigners.
