She decided to make a collection of the sacred compositions of women, and the result is her famous compilation, "Woman in Sacred Song" of 1885. Her compilation celebrates the contributions and talents of women in Christian writing of poetry and song; and it is 'Dedicated to the Christian Women of the Nineteenth Century".The book is divided into "Departments": Devotional, Missionary, Temperance and Miscellaneous. It contains poetry written by hundreds of women, and over one hundred musical compositions, all written by women.
