Description: Anthony Perkins and Tab Hunter together, gay man's collection 4x61950s Brand new. Digitally edited and professionally re-printed on photo stock. From a family estate of a gentleman's collection of gay and male related photographs and ephemera. Most items are from the early to mid 20th century and includes loose photographs as well as some pictures that were cut by the owner from an antique photo album. Digital Reprint 4"x6" candid shot of two teen heart throbs of the 1950s and 60s, Anthony (Tony) Perkins and Tab Hunter. Around the time this picture was taken, the two were living together in Hollywood as "roommates" as the story was explained by the Hollywood Publicity Machine. In fact the two were living together as boyfriends/lovers, and were both seen out at public events together, with conveniently-acquired female dates to square their image with the press.Perkins was a British actor living in the US - famous for his role in the Hitchcock film, Psycho. Hunter starred in a number of western and war movies, usually playing the part of the baby-faced yet burly Marine. They met at the Chateau Marmont in 1956 and split about a year later after some hurt feelings over a role that Perkins pitched to his studio (Paramount) who bought the script from Hunter's studio (Warner Brothers.) They look to be sharing some sort of secret moment in this photo and things don't look to be going too well in the conversation. It's worth noting that to add stress upon stress of being gay in Hollywood in the 1950s, Paramount had forbade Perkins from "seeing" Hunter. A portion of the sales from my original prints are donated by eBay on my behalf to The Trevor Project. Their mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ young people. They offer crisis services, counseling, safe spaces and more. If you have the opportunity, search for online and watch the short film Trevor, on which this foundation is based. *For this type picture, I made digital repairs to the original images and had them professionally reprinted. Each of these photos is labeled at the top of the listing as "Digital Reprint" to indicate that these are not the original prints of these images. They are also priced accordingly.1 picture(s) included as part of our description. Please examine carefully before purchase. If you have any questions before purchase please contact us here: we are very happy to help in any way we can. Please note that inclusion in this gentleman's collection does not imply that the people in the photo are gay or bi. Perhaps someone in the photo was a friend, or maybe he just picked up the picture somewhere for his collection. DAT1125 2311b Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
