Catalog is code dated AD-06-7-71 and was taken from a compilation issued in 1972. Asbestos Reference: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 There's 7 1/2 pages of their vinyl asbestos floor tile and another 1/4 page of their Plastic Asphalt floor tile. Although the composition of the asphalt tile is not mentioned the literature states it meets Federal Specification SS-T-312 Type I which is the known reference for asphalt asbestos floor tile. Also pictured is Zip Stik vinyl asbestos tile which was promoted for floors, walls and counters. "Just zip off the protective backing, press into place and you're done. No mess, no fuss, no separate adhesive." If it were only so simple. For anyone who has had to install tile you would know that some type of cutting will be needed to tie into and finish a project. No tiles ever fit perfectly onto a counter, floor or wall. You always have to do some kind of cut to make it work and this could have potentially exposed do-it-yourself-ers to dangerous asbestos dust. See photos for further info!
