Description: Very Rare hand-painted Pan Production Background and hand-penciled Background Layout Drawing from Akira (1988). The background is 32" long and is seen for about 2 seconds in the film. It is seen just before Tetsuo and Kaori pass by the Clown Gang on Kaneda's bike. Almost all Akira backgrounds are in the hands of just a few collectors, and they rarely come to market. Also included is an overlay with a screen-matching image of Tetsuo and Kaori on the motorcyle. It is a print and not a production cel. The background has a small tear in the grey sky above the building, but is otherwise in excellent condition. The production numbers are on the back of the piece and match the numbers in the Certificate of Authenticity.
