On offer: one used JK brand unbleached single weave dogi (training uniform) suitable for Aikido, Judo, and any other art that involves grabbing and pulling on clothing. Size 2. I can tell you that this garment was worn by very petite women, no taller than 5 feet.) The garment is in good condition and will provide good service for someone getting started in the martial arts. Evidence of prior use is found in light yellow sweat stains on the collar. The garment was washed and Spray 'n Wash was applied to the collar, which reduced the stains but did not eliminate them entirely. I considered washing again with bleach, but decided that I'd leave it to a prospective buyer to decide how to address the collar. The quick back story. In years past I was the club advisor and chief instructor for an Aikido club at the college where I teach (Saint John's University in central Minnesota). Over the years, I accumulated a fair amount of surplus gear as students came and went and left gear behind. The club had a policy of loaning out training uniforms to interested students who wanted to practice but either weren't sure they wanted to invest in a good quality dogi, or who couldn't afford one. This garment is one of those loaners. It has been used for short times by many beginning students. (The serious ones always ended up purchasing their own gear.) Some years back the club folded as a result of weak student leadership, illness and infirmity on my part, and declining student interest in something as esoteric as Aikido. I've been selling off the surplus gear that accumulated. I've hesitated about selling this item because it is used. But either I just throw it out, repurpose it (Garden scarecrow? Cleaning rags?), or see if someone would be willing to purchase it at a significant discount. In any case, I just want prospective buyers to be fully informed - it is a good garment, but used and lightly stained. Caveat emptor.
