Description: Oil painting after Paul Calle? by Mexican artist Antonio. Oil on onyx stone slab with stone standing base. Original artist?: Paul Calle (b.1928-2010) After Artist: Antonio (Mexico) Signed on front lower right-verso has original art gallery sticker Medium: oil on onyx stone from the mountains of Baja, Mexico. Also include stone standing base. Dates: exact age is unknown as painting is not dated- approx late 90’s Measures: Painting- 10.75” x 14.5” Stand- 6” x 5.5” x 1.5” Condition: Painting has some scuffs, scratches, tiny white spots, smears and stains, other spots and or stains, very mild areas of paint loss or paint chips. Some mild surface scratches and loss to foreground of painting from rubbing against stone base-please read bottom carefully as I describe material that should be use to prevent further scratching! Areas on stone with scuffing could use professional buffing. Overall in very nice condition for age. Stone stand has heavy scratch and scuff marks on bottom from use. Front side has black scuff marks and stains as shown. Under side as what appears to be a broken piece. However, this looks intentional as there are no rough edges to break. Base does not tilt. Very important!- The painting fits into the slot on top of stone base but you need to put some thin cushioning (felt) in between otherwise it will continue to scratch the surface of the painting. Painting and stand are sold as-is, as shown.
