Bound in the publisher's olive green cloth with titles in gilt and decorations in black, blue, green and gilt ont he spine and top board. Very good condition, with very light marks to the top bard, and bumping to the head and foot of the spine, spine slightly darkened. Bookplate on the front endpaper, along with the same person's name inscribed. Some scattered foxing to the prelims and up to page 2 and to the last 4 pages. Very occasional marks elsewhere, mainly clean and tight in its binding. A very attractive copy of this early dystopian novel, where Victorian civilisation has been swept away by an unspecified disaster to be replaced by a neo-mediaeval world.
