Description: OK. We have something VERY SPECIAL for your consideration today. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLYYYYY don't want to part with this, but money issues have arisen, so I'm going to have to let her go... Purchased brand new, all the way back in 1969 by my late mother, this was her pride and joy 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom. Pretty sure this is a "fretless wonder", original PATENT NUMBER pickups (sadly not PAFs, lol), strap buttons, bridge and tailpiece replaced (ORIGINALS IN CASE, along with the pickup covers, pickguard, couple other screws and two other tarnished OG strap buttons as well). Original "waffle back" tuners still installed. Serial number "541078", according to serial number lookups online she was made in 1969 in the Kalamazoo plant. As far as I can tell, no breaks, cracks or repairs. Looks like a little bit of finish shrinking/cracking on one side of the neck pocket (not on other side and doesn't go all the way to the end of the heel), possibly a little bit of shrinkage in the binding, especially right where it meets in the "open book" headstock, some minor buckle rash on the back, little bit of finish chipping around the switch cavity cover, some rust on all the screws, screws on backplate might be replaced (they seem shinier than the rest). Little bit of finish rash on the neck (tried to photograph it, this finish is HARD to get good pics), barely noticeable when actually playing her. Some scrapes and a ding around the headstock. Old label with "M.M." on back of headstock, my late dads initials. Not going to even ATTEMPT to remove it, sorry. Neck straight and true. Electronics, AFAIK are ORIGINAL UNTOUCHED (if you think otherwise, look at pic, message us and let us know). 2 "Black Beauty" Sprague capacitors. Only problem I notice is the neck pickup seems kind of "light" sounding, could possibly need a rewind, and the pickup switch is a little finnicky. Metal switch tip (might be a replacement, not sure, again, if you think it is, message us) Comes with her original case, has tarnish/rust on the hardware, the yellow interior is coming off in some places, especially around the headstock, has sticker burn in the outer tolex, but the case is nice and solid. Here's your chance to own a piece of guitar HISTORY. Shipping will reflect the rarity/fragility of this instrument. Willing to let someone come buy her in person. NO TRADES. IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY INTO OWNING THIS BEAUTIFUL GIRL, please, contact us. Don't buy it, and then not pay for it, as that will end up costing US money, and we will DEFINITELY contact whomever owns the sites she is listed on and will report you as a none paying buyer. Sorry, but this is a pricey one, and we cant be covering people who aren't serious in adding her to their collection. WILLING TO TAKE MORE PICS IF REQUESTED, though we don't have professional quality gear, so were working with what we have and to the best of our amateur abilities. AS ALWAYS, MY LOSS=YOUR GAIN, ESPECIALLY with this one.... EDIT 1: She weighs 9 pounds, 11.3 ounces EDIT 2: a nice guy contacted us and gave us a little extra info on her. Apparently the dot on the "I" in the "GIBSON" logo isnt super common on these, and he said he definitely thinks its a "fretless wonder" (I am 100 percent certain these are the OG frets, shes never been refretted). Also said the pots are dated as 1968, and that the long neck tenon sets her as an early 69 model. He added "it has all the 68’ options like one piece neck with no volute and one piece mahogany body with maple top" as well. Edit 3: Added some better pics!WE DEFINITELY WELCOME ANYONE who can give us extra info on this guitar. We are well aware that there are people who've made it their passion to study/document every little detail about these instruments, and we love to be educated on it. We want to make sure that we are completely 100 percent with anyone who might want her. WYSIWYG, LOOK AT PICS CAREFULLY, NO RETURNS, AS IS, BUYER COVERS ALL SHIPPING, INT BUYERS COVER ALL SHIPPING/INSURANCE/VAT TAXES ETC EDIT: IF YOU ARE LOCATED IN CALIFORNIA, THE UK OR CANADA, SORRY, BUT SHIPPING WILL MORE THAN LIKELY BE MORE THAN WHAT WE ESTIMATE IT TO BE. SORRY PEOPLE, WERE NOT THE POWERS THAT BE. IF YOU ARE STILL INTERESTED IN WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER, WE'LL CONTACT YOU AND GET YOU THE SHIPPING AMOUNTS TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITIES. AGAIN, I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH. IF YOU PURCHASE FROM US AND THE SHIPPING IS ---MORE--- THAN LISTED, YOU PAY THE EXTRA DIFFERENCE. WE'VE LOST TOO MUCH TO PEOPLE ARGUING OVER, OR SIMPLY REFUSING TO PAY, THE DIFFERENCE.
